Seriously, I know games can be pretty important for some people, but this guy has taken it too far. A Runescape player is facing up to 15 years in prison after allegedly forcing another gamer to hand over 4.7 billion coins on the virtual, browser-based game.Humza Bajwa is accused of pulling out a realistic-looking gun on David Emani, who was collecting the cash for a friend. The friend, Jonathon Dokler, sent Emani to meet Bajwa in a Fordham University classroom, who became suspicious that the money Bajwa was passing over was fake, eventually with Bajwa wanting to postpone the meeting until the next day. According to the New York Post, the guy (Bajwa) then re-met with the representative of Dolka, his friend Emani, but Emani was sure the money was fake, so confronted Bajwa about it. Upon being confronted, Bajwa pulled out a realistic looking gun, ordering Emani to phone his friend Dolka to send over the virtual cash, or else! Emani states "I couldn’t believe I was about to get shot over RuneScape! I was so scared I was about to die.” Once the transaction was complete, Bajwa left Emani unharmed, and didn't even take the real-life possession he had on him, including the $100 he used to prove Bajwa's money was fake. The police have arrested Bajwa, who faces up to 15 years in prison for such a crime! Honestly, Runescape virtual gold worth 15 years of your life? Hmm.. hard question! What do you think guys, 15 years of freedom (or well, whatever we have on the outside, if you wanna call this freedom), or a few thousand virtual coins on a game? What do you think!? |
