“Very disgusting”: Subway’s Cadbury Creme Egg Easter sandwich 2023

This is your chance to elevate your Cadbury Creme Egg obsession.

Subway, the sandwich chain, will introduce a new, odd-sounding product with them for Easter.

Not everyone gets egg-cited.

On Good Friday in the UK, the chain’s Italian white bread 6-inch sandwich features a chocolate creme egg melted in the center.

“Absolutely disgusting,” “No!”, and “I admire the ingenuity, but I don’t believe I’ll be in line for this one” are some of the negative comments.

Subway proposed an unusual partnership to Cadbury.

Only 500 of the unique sandwiches will be created and given out in Tottenham Court Road, downtown London, and Central Shopping Mall, Liverpool.

“Our Italian White Bread and Cadbury Creme Eggs form the most flavorsome combination, a fantastic holiday treat,” Subway’s senior manager of new product development and innovation, Rusty Warren, told Jam Press.

“When Subway contacted us to develop an eggstraordinary Submelt, we just couldn’t resist,” said Cadbury Crème Egg brand executive Charlotte Docker.

“The highly-anticipated Creme Egg season is in full swing and we’re so delighted to offer this creative product with Subway as a last hoorah of the season,” she said.

Cadbury Creme Egg fans may pray to the chocolate gods for a US release next year.

The candy’s fondant core has long puzzled aficionados.
