The Indian market for midsize SUVs will soon see the entry of a new competitor. Until now, only this name has been rumored to be the new player’s, but Honda has now affirmed it officially. Honda has published a teaser for its upcoming SUV, thus confirming that it will be called the Honda Elevate. After their introduction to the market, these SUVs will primarily compete with the Creta and Seltos.
As previously reported, the company will begin offering the Honda Elevate on June 6, and it will go on sale in the month of August. This SUV will make its global début in India before being introduced to other markets. Honda posted a teaser image of this SUV on its social media accounts with the description that it will be an urban SUV introduced this summer.
How will Honda Grow:
Honda Elevate was developed as a new Glowable model in the company’s lineup to satisfy the needs of SUV customers, according to the company. New models are created with the people’s lifestyles in consideration. India will be the first country to receive the Honda Elevate. There is currently a lack of information regarding this SUV. In terms of segment length, however, it is conceivable for these SUVs to reach 4.3 meters in length. It can be constructed on the platform of the Honda City sedan of the fifth generation.
According to media reports, this SUV could be equipped with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated gasoline engine. However, its efficacy depends on its tuning. Typically, however, this engine produces 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This engine is anticipated to be compatible with both a 6-speed manual and CVT transmission. It is conceivable that the company will offer it only with a gasoline engine.
In recent testing, this SUV was also observed. According to the surveillance photos, it will have characteristics of both an MPV and an SUV. It was also presented to dealers in Thailand, who were informed that its design is very unique and will give competitors a difficult time.
The SUV is believed to have an increasingly muscular tire arc, sporty cladding, and chrome work. Additionally, LED daytime running lights can be the focal point of its front. The rear is also anticipated to have attractive taillights. According to some reports, its taillight may resemble that of the WR-V sold on the Indonesian market.
