The 5th Annual Blockchain Futurist Conference will be held in Toronto, Canada, on August 15-16, 2023, and will once again feature the most futuristic stage in the industry.
Untraceable Events, a collective that has organized Web3 conferences and hackathons since 2013, is in charge of the production. With more than one hundred events and more than one thousand speakers on their roster, they have a reputation for presenting the most recognizable personalities in the industry.
Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, has spoken at nine Untraceable events to date. Buterin rarely speaks at conferences. Vitalik spoke at the Blockchain Futurist Conference and ETHToronto in 2018 about the highly anticipated ETH 2.0 merge pre-launch, and in 2019 he will discuss the future of Ethereum.
Vitalik Buterin was also a speaker at Untraceable’s first blockchain event, The Bitcoin Expo 2014, where he wrote an article about the other presenters for Bitcoin Magazine.
At Blockchain Futurist Conference, numerous leaders have provided insight on topics well before they became mainstream:
- The Future of Decentralized Finance in 2020 featured Robert Leshner, Founder of Compound Labs, Rune Christensen, Co-founder of MakerDAO, and Anatoly Yakovenko, Co-founder of Solana, before DeFi became mainstream.
- On a panel about Non-Fungible Tokens in 2020, Futurist heard from Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder of The Sandbox, and Artur Sychov, Founder of Somnium Space, before Metaverse was a catchphrase.
- Before Artificial Intelligence became popular, futurists in 2019 heard Dr. Ben Goertzel, Founder of SingularityNET.
- Other notable speakers who have provided future forecasts include the late Larry King, CNN legend, Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of IOHK, Louisa Bai, director of partnerships at Stellar Development Foundation, Tone Vays, Bitcoin pioneer, and Emmy-winning producer Cindy Cowan.
The selection committee for the 2023 Blockchain Futurist Conference meticulously selects the best speakers and extends invitations for mainstage positions. Additionally, the conference features ETHToronto and ETHWomen Hackathon finalists presenting their newly developed blockchain-based initiatives. There are additional opportunities to present at hackathons and on alternative platforms at the conference.
