For her roles in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Mary, Mary on Broadway, Barbara Bel Geddes was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Play. She was up for an Oscar for her role in the movie I Remember Mama as Best Supporting Actress. She was also in the movies Blood on the Moon, Caught, Panic in the Streets, Fourteen Hours, Vertigo, The Five Pennies, Five Branded Women, By Love Possessed, Summertree, and The Todd Killings. On August 8, 2005, when she was 82 years old, Barbara Bel Geddes died.
