Vedanta dividend 2023: Board meets today to deliberate FY23 5th interim dividend 2023

At its meeting today, the board of directors of Vedanta Limited will examine and approve an interim dividend. In its exchange statement, the dividend stock alerted Indian bourses about the board meeting and its agenda. If the interim dividend is released today, it will represent Vedanta’s seventh interim dividend for the fiscal year 2022-23.

In the preceding four interim dividends, Vedanta issued a net interim dividend of 81 per share in FY23. The dividend-paying company has previously indicated that the record date for the Vedanta dividend (if paid today) is April 7, 2023.

Informing Indian bourses of the proposed 5th interim dividend, Vedanta stated, “Pursuant to Regulation 29 of Listing Regulations, Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors of the Company (the “Board”) is proposed to meet on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, to consider and approve the Fifth Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2022-23.”

Vedanta also alerted Indian bourses about the record date for payment of the fifth dividend in FY23, stating, “Please notice that the record date for establishing the equity shareholders’ entitlement to the abovementioned dividend, if declared, is being set as Friday, April 7, 2023.”

As stated previously, Vedanta has issued interim dividends four times during the fiscal year 2022-23. According to the information accessible on the BSE website, Vedanta traded ex-dividend on May 6, 2022, for the payment of its first interim dividend in fiscal year 23. On 26 July 2022, Vedanta traded ex-dividend for the second time in fiscal year 2023, for 19.50 per share. Vedanta traded ex-dividend for the third time in FY23 on November 29th, 2022, for 17.50 per share. Similarly, on February 3, 2023, Vedanta traded ex-dividend shares for payment of an interim dividend of $112.50 per share. So far, Vedanta has announced an interim dividend of 81 per share to its shareholders in FY23.
